Vacancy :     Dolgoch Hostel Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the Elenydd Hostels Trust. Key requirements are:

• Interacting with the YHA to manage the hostel bookings. This involves dealing with enquires, allocating bookings taken by the YHA and communicating with the hostel.
• Managing supplies for the hostel.
• Access to a computer.

We are about to start a program of major upgrades at Dolgoch. This will be managed by a project team who will work with the new hostel coordinator.

Training will be given in the YHA booking system, and a full handover provided by the current job holder. Please note that, like all other roles in the Trust at the present time, this post is in a voluntary capacity.

Newsflash  :   Grant for Dolgoch !

Our grant application for £82,000 to improve the structure and amenities at Dolgoch has been successful!

This is European money which has been allocated to the Ceredigion Rural Development Plan via the Welsh Assembly.

Improvements will take place over the next 3 years and will include structural repairs, some changes to the interior of the building and the addition of disabled accommodation. Everything will be done sympathetically to maintain the unique character of the place. And, of course, major repairs to the access track are high on the list of priorities. As far as possible Dolgoch will remain open during this period and any closures will be kept to an absolute minimum.

None of this would have been possible without the expertise and tireless hard work of our funding officer Pearl Chalk. So many thanks Pearl - the acquisition of this money is all down to you!
